Console Tables

The console table is the first thing guests see in a hallway and often the finishing touch behind a sofa. Our collection of more than 400 luxury console tables covers slim designs for narrow entrances, drawer consoles that keep keys and post out of sight, and sculptural pieces with marble, glass or eglomise tops that become a focal point in their own right.

Choosing a console table

For a hallway, measure the clear width first: a depth of 30–40cm keeps walkways open, while deeper tables suit wider entrances and landings. Behind a sofa, choose a console just below the height of the sofa back and no longer than the sofa itself. If you need storage, look for designs with drawers or a lower shelf for baskets.

Styles and brands

Jonathan Charles and Theodore Alexander bring classical proportions, fine veneers and gilded detail. Uttermost and Caracole lean contemporary, with brass frames, stone and lacquer. Keiichi, Élan & Co and Richmond Interiors offer modern designs at a wider range of prices.

Style the top with a statement mirror above, a pair of table lamps and a few vases, and see our hallway furniture for more ideas. Orders over £100 on most pieces include complimentary white-glove delivery to mainland UK, placed in the room you choose, assembled and with all packaging removed.

Pieces to start with

Good places to begin include the Berkeley Designs Lucca Console Table in Grey/Taupe - OUTLET, the Jonathan Charles French 1930s Console Table in Brass, the Elan & Co Motara Burl Wood Curved Console Table and the Limoges Faux Shagreen 3 Drawer Accent Chest by Mindy Brownes.

Console table FAQs

What is the best console table for a narrow hallway?

Look for a depth of 35cm or less and legs set close to the frame. Wall-hugging demilune (half-moon) shapes and glass tops also help a narrow space feel open.

Do you price match?

Yes. Send us the link to the same item for less at a UK retailer and we will look to match it under our price match guarantee.
